Foundation Imaging is a diagnostic imaging centre specialising in advanced imaging techniques, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), and X-ray scans. Coupled with a team of experienced radiologists, we provide diagnostic imaging services for a wide range of medical conditions, supporting healthcare professionals in making informed treatment decisions.
MRI uses strong magnetic fields to produce detailed images of organs and tissues in the body. It is usually used for disease detection, diagnosis, and treatment monitoring.
A CT scan combines X-ray and computer processing to produce detailed cross-sectional images of bones, blood vessels and soft tissues in the body.
X-rays create pictures of dense materials inside the body when X-ray beams pass through and are absorbed at different rates by various tissues. Dense materials, such as bones, absorb more of the X-rays and appear white on the image, while less dense materials, like muscles and fat, absorb fewer X-rays and show up in shades of grey. Air-filled spaces, such as the lungs, appear black because they absorb very little radiation.
Dr Kenneth Sheah is a radiologist with an interest in musculoskeletal conditions. He has contributed to medical publications where he served as a reviewer for Skeletal Radiology and the Singapore Medical Journal and co-authored the chapter on the shoulder in Haaga’s CT and MRI of the Whole Body and Kamarkar’s Atlas of Sonoanatomy.
