Bio

Dr Victor Seah is a double-fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon in Singapore. He has a special interest in Orthopaedic trauma and geriatric osteoporotic fractures and is skilled in foot and ankle surgery as well. Dr Seah graduated with an MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 2000 and started his speciality training in 2005. He then obtained the Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2006 from the National University of Singapore, and upon completion of his post-graduate exams, he was conferred a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2009.


He was awarded the Ministry of Health Health Manpower Development Programme Award to further his training with fellowships in Orthopaedic Traumatology in the Charite University of Medicine in Berlin, and a Foot and Ankle fellowship in Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital in Dresden Germany from 2010 to 2011. It was in these tertiary centres that Dr Seah acquired skills and experience in treating patients with complex fractures and trauma, as well as the techniques in Foot and Ankle Surgery. Upon his return to Singapore, he was put in charge of the Trauma service for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.


Dr Seah was actively involved in the care of trauma patients and was the trauma team lead for the Orthopaedic Department in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. Dr Seah is also passionate in the care of geriatric patients and patients with osteoporosis. He was also appointed by Ministry of Health to be a member of the Osteoporotic Hip Fracture Clinical Practice Guideline workgroup, formulating the practice guidelines for the treatment of patients with Osteoporotic Fractures. He was also a member of the Ministry of Health Integrated Care Pathway Workgroup for hip fractures in the elderly. Dr Seah also heads a multidisciplinary team in developing Khoo Teck Puat Hospital’s inaugural Integrated Practice Unit for geriatric hip fractures.
