Bio

Dr Toh is an accredited General Surgeon with a sub-specialty interest in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, Bariatric Metabolic surgery and Advanced Endoscopy. After serving in public sector for more than 16 years across various hospitals in Singapore and United Kingdom, Dr Toh is well-versed in treating general surgical conditions, benign and malignant upper gastrointestinal diseases and bariatric metabolic disorders. He is skilled in minimally invasive surgery and advanced endoscopy including ERCP with spyglass and stenting.

He was part of the pioneering team of specialists setting up the General Surgery, Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric services in Sengkang General Hospital, Singapore and still maintaining ties with the public sector as Visiting Consultant.

With a keen interest in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and education, Dr Toh holds appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor in Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore, Adjunct Lecturer in Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technology University and Clinical Lecturer for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He is also an instructor for ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) course under American College of Surgeons. Prior to private practice, Dr Toh was appointed as physician faculty for SingHealth General Surgery Residency Programme and the Co-educational lead in General Surgery for Duke-NUS Medical School.

Dr Toh is active in research and has authored several scientific publications as well as presenting frequently at international surgical conferences. He was previously the Honorary Treasurer and Executive Member of The Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society of Singapore (OMSSS). With his special interest in bariatric metabolic surgery, he is also offered as member of IFSO (International Federation for The Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders).
