A/Prof Fong Yoke Fai was the first to perform robotic surgery for gynaecological cancer, and single incision surgery in the region.

A/Prof Fong spearheaded the development of dedicated services catering to women with endometriosis and uterine fibroids – an outpatient hysteroscopy service which works to “see and treat’’ uterine problems such as polyps, adhesions, and fibroids, and the Endometriosis Centre concept which involves integrating urological, colorectal, pain management, and women’s emotional health services, together with the early diagnosis of endometriosis.

He is the first physician in Singapore to offer endometriosis mapping through transvaginal ultrasound and has been successful in the assessment and staging of endometriosis in his patients to guide treatment plans.
