Adj Associate Professor Charles Tsang graduated from medical school at the National University of Singapore in 1987 and obtained his Fellowship Diploma in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 1993. He completed fellowships in the UK and US, emerging at the top of his class and receiving an outstanding resident award. In 1998 he graduated with a Master of Science in Experimental Surgery.
With over 12 years as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon, Dr. Tsang was Head of the Division of Colorectal Surgery and Surgical Oncology at the National University Cancer Institute of Singapore before moving to private practice in 2012. He is accomplished in laparoscopic and robotic surgery for cancers and disorders, as well as proctology, endoscopy and functional disorders.
Dr. Tsang teaches undergraduates and postgraduates as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore. He helped start a competitive Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery and has benefited surgeons from Asia and the UK. For his contributions to colon and rectal surgery, he received recognition from American and Asian surgical societies.
Dr. Tsang has an impressive research background, holding grants and authoring numerous papers and book chapters. He serves on the editorial board of the Korean Journal of Coloproctology and reviews for other journals.
